Solana's co-founder sheds more light on the blockchain's dependability at Breakpoint

Since the inception of crypto, issues like scalability and interoperability have plagued networks and proven to be a thorn in the flesh of several reputable ones. However, many of these exchanges constantly pursue improving these qualities and making them better for prospective users.
Solana's co-founder sheds more light on the blockchain's dependability at Breakpoint
In recent news, this issue was brought to light when Anatoly Yakovenko, a co-founder of Solana, claimed that while network failures and dependability problems plagued the network over the last year, recent modifications will aid the blockchain in resolving these problems.
On the 5th of November, Yakovenko
about the blockchain's past and future in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Breakpoint 2022 annual conference, pointing out recent challenges the network has encountered. He explained that the exchange faced several difficulties over the past year, mostly centered around dependability.
The exchange's status updates revealed that Solana had experienced ten partial or complete outages. The most significant one happened between January 6 and 12, 2022. This was when the network was stricken by problems that resulted in fractional shutdowns and system failures for between 8 and 18 hours. The latest one occurred on the 1st of October and was referred to as a significant outage, spanning about six and a half hours.
Solana experienced clock drift between the close of May and the beginning of June due to longer-than-expected slot times. Slot times are those periods during which a validator can send a block to Solana.
Yakovenko noted that actions became very, really terrible in June. Block times reached over a second, which is sluggish for Solana, according to him. He added that even in some instances, confirmation times are long, so much so that they spend 15 to 20 seconds.
A new update with the validator count increasing in the previous year, according to Yakovenko, placed Solana on the right track to overcoming the network performance difficulties.
Yakovenko expressed that there's no doubt that they continue to have difficulties with outages and glitches. But in light of the August collaboration between Solana and Web3 development company Jump Crypto to create Firedancer, there's a long-term solution to the network outage issue that could contain the key.
Do you see the issues of dependability and outages becoming a thing of the past soon for Solana? Can they genuinely find a way out of this collaboration? Kindly share your thoughts in the comments section.
