According to reports, Asian countries continue to adopt blockchain despite the pandemic. Tomohiro Maruyama, a senior manager at PwC Consulting, explains that blockchain has emerged as an ideal solution to solve cybercrime issues, making it popular among several companies in Asia.
CEO of LasTrust stated that his firm had seen a rapid rise in the number of inquiries since the pandemic outbreak. He explained that his firm developed a blockchain service last September. The platform offers several services, including digital certificates to institutions.
BitFlyer Holdings also stated that it developed a blockchain-based application that provides a secure platform for meetings and online voting. The firm furthered that the last shareholder meeting in June was conducted successfully using the platform, and it plans to extend the services.
Agrocorp International, a company in Singapore, also announced its partnership with a blockchain firm in the country and several logistic companies to monitor the supply chain of its agricultural products and prevent the disrupted supply of its products. The firm explained that since the adoption of blockchain technology, the settlement time for its transaction had reduced drastically from about a month to just five days.
