Ethereum is planning on implementing a proof-of-stake consensus protocol change during the Serenity phase of their development roadmap.

For each blockchain, miners support the network by verifying transactions to earn either Bitcoin or Ethereum as block rewards.

Sory 🙏 wrong. Clear: Like bitcoin, Ethereum's blockchain currently operates on a "proof of work" model. So-called "miners" with purpose-built computers compete to solve complex mathematical puzzles to validate transactions. Whoever wins that race is then awarded in bitcoin.
