Academy award-winning director conspiracy theory on COVID-19 and crypto goes viral

Russian director and Oscar winner, Nikita Mikhalkov, shares a strange conspiracy theory on a Russian TV show. The director believes that Microsoft is on the verge of starting an evil plot with the company's recent introduction of sensor-based mining technology.

Mikhalkov fears that Microsoft's patent for the cryptocurrency technology is satanic because the patent number -- WO/2020/060606 -- proves the satanic nature of the system.

He states that the last six figures of the license number are suspicious. He emphasized that these numbers are the apparent representation of the satanic symbol, 666, which is called the "number of the beast".

Mikhalkov proposes that the technology is an effort by Bill Gates Foundations to microchip the global population under the pretence of developing a vaccine for the novel coronavirus.

He also cites Herman Gref, head of Russian bank Sberbank as one of the perpetrators of the satanic scheme. So far, the theory has gained popularity from Russians including former tennis player and politician, Marat Safin.

The bizarre theory has gone viral even though it obscures Bill Gate's relationship with Microsoft after he stepped down from the corporation's board. The conspiracy theory propagated by Mikhalkov also provides little information about the aim of the microchipping system.
