Doge coin; lets disuss DOGECOIN today, this coin has recently been enjoying the spotlight especially after it was mentioned in a tweet by the world’s richest man Elon Musk. So what makes this coin so special and is it worth the hype? The most interest thing perhaps about this crptocurrency is that it is based off a meme, the DOGE Meme, this has in no way affected the value of the coin, what was initially based off a joke has come a long way to a multi-million dollar market capitalisation. Dogecoin is based off a fork of LITECOIN called LUCKYCOIN. It operates a proof of work system where blocks are mined much like bitcoin, where miners are given rewards for work done. There is nothing really special about this coin apart from its dedicated community of users, founded in 2014 as a meme coin, several years later it is still mainstream, showing that sentiment has a strong role to play in value of an asset.
