  • Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin in the future
  • Novogratz believes Ethereum could be the foundation blockchain for web 3.0
  • Crypto stakeholders have a role to play in educating Regulator

A few years ago, a concept called ‘’flippening’’ emerged in the crypto community. Flippening is the event that occurs when Ethereum overtakes Bitcoin as the largest crypto-asset. Despite its dominance as the leading smart contract and dominant market for DeFi, Ethereum lags behind Bitcoin in market capitalization.

Novogratz suggested that the flippening could occur in a recent interview with Bloomberg. The Crypto stakeholder noted that Ethereum has the potential to become the largest cryptocurrency based on the current growth of its network.

Novogratz cited that Ethereum could serve as a foundation base for Web 3.0 where trustless projects can be built on its blockchain network. Despite acknowledging other competing blockchains like Solana and Polkadot, the Galaxy Digital chief believes that Ethereum will be the dominant blockchain network.

The subject of crypto regulation is a major topic globally, with many countries proposing different regulatory frameworks. Novogratz urged blockchain stakeholders to step up their efforts to educate regulators about the crypto industry.

He stated that many lawmakers from their speeches do not understand how Bitcoin and other crypto-assets work. This, according to Novogratz, makes it the responsibility of crypto companies and stakeholders to provide proper education for government regulators. This would make it easier for regulators to implement the proper legal framework for blockchain technology to thrive globally.

Novogratz also concluded that with the proper regulatory framework implemented globally. Bitcoin would be able to achieve its goal of surpassing gold as the store of value for investors. He also expects bitcoin to be the digital gold that would last for the next 3000 years.

It isn't easy to place Novogratz's statements beyond the typical predictions that many stakeholders make about Bitcoin and Ethereum. However, he is correct with his assertion that the crypto community should educate regulators about how digital currencies work.

Do you think that Ethereum will surpass Bitcoin in the future?
