Former primary executive at the U.S. Treasury Department entered the main blockchain enforcement company, Chainalysis.
Sigal Mandelker, former Treasury Secretary for Extremism and Financial Intelligence is said to have joined the Chainalysis Board of Consultants. As publicly reported on July 7th, the new role on the start-up board arrives alongside Mandelker 's inclusion in the $49 million Series B investment round of the Chainalysis.
The latest board appointment, Forbes noted, is the first public job for Mandelker since she quit Trump's White House in October 2019 for the private sector. At the outset, the former Treasurer would visit the chain analysis team and provide knowledge into and establish strategic collaborations in both the public and private sector for forensic inquiries into crypto-crime.
Chainalysis for federal authorities such as the Internal Revenue Service and the FBI represents a key source of crypto-analytical data. Mandelker emphasizes that further progress would be critical for the future of the sector with regard to the wide spectrum of cooperation within the group. She said:
"It would be really necessary for the success of this industry to establish ties and improve relations with all financial institutions and the government sector, including law enforcement."
Mandelker is known to have played a part in billions of dollars in cryptocurrency assets from 2019 crypto-investigations targeting three hackers groups. The former Executive Treasury also took part in the prosecution in 2008, according to government archives, of an unauthorized digital money site branded as "E-Gold."
