Hackers hacked popular big resort company, MGM Grand last year, and the hackers supposedly got a large number of names, home numbers, phone contacts, and birthdays. The cybercriminals have been attempting to auction the data of the victims for cryptocurrency.
The data wants to be sold for Bitcoin or Moreno worth of $2,939 by the hackers. There were previous reports that mentioned that only about 10 million guest data was gotten. Still, the cybercriminals claim they have the data of more than 142 million guests of the resort company.
The disclosed data showed that the hacked data contained the information of some influential and popular figures in the world.
A specimen of the data hacked was released by the hackers to convince the public that hack claim is genuine. Although the big resort company insists that the resort's guests lodge details, security digits and financial details data were not hacked by the cybercriminals.
This isn't the first time the resort company's guests' data will be hacked as there have been some hack attempts in previous years. Some reports indicate that the resort company's guest data might be split into bits and exchanged for BTC or XRM.
