Malaysians looking to begin Bitcoin or Ethereum mining should start now. The advances in mining software and technical resources have made mining open to even non-technical people. As such, this is the best time to start.

Here we'll review the most popular mining pool in the crypto network. Keep in mind that the best crypto mining pool may have to do more with personal preference than any technical aspects. It's crucial to critique each of these mining pools and choose one that suits the most.

Before consdering the best mining pools to join, let's go over crypto mining in details.

What are Crypto Mining Pools?

A mining pool is a collection of miners that pool their resources to increase the chances of winning the race. They are a great way to begin, as pool operators offer advice, technical support, tutorials, and more for those beginners looking to start. Of course, this is not free, and pools take a cut from all the participants' profits.

Now, you might be thinking about going solo. Well, sadly to say, this is almost impossible in 2020. The hash difficulty of the crypto network is beyond the reach of most people in the world. A single GPU would take an estimated 67 years to mine 1 block. So, partnering with a pool is a must for regular people.

The only way to do it alone is to build a mining farm. This is especially so for Indonesia. Although lower than the region's average, energy costs are not low enough to justify farming on a large scale. There are very few cryptocurrency farms in the country, so joining a pool is a must. And it can be hard choosing the best pool for crypto mining, as there are many options.

Of course, this is when joining a pool. The process is far more complicated when establishing a farm that needs to coordinate thousands of GPUs, as the one from this picture.

A project of this scale takes millions of dollars in hardware and personnel to set up. This is why small scale miners have to join pools to be successful.

How to Choose a Crypto Mining Pool?

How to choose a crypto mining pool Is more a subjective question. There is no one correct answer, as the different pools out there are very active in specific regions and not in others.

As an example, f2pool is from China and is very involved in the Asian crypto community. In comparison, Ether mine has a large presence in the West.

The top pools don't differ much from each other. This is because market conditions have forced them to offer a similar fee structure and a minimum payable amount. A beginner should start with one of the 4 biggest pools, as they are run as professional businesses.

They offer tutorials and technical support. Of course, the downside is that a large pool dilutes rewards over a higher number of participants.

Once you have become familiar with the inner workings of running a mining node and joining a pool, then a smaller pool can be more profitable. These have fewer participants. Thus the reward is more prominent, even if the pool itself mines fewer blocks.

But smaller crypto mining pools won't offer the same level of support as big ones. So, they are for advanced users confident in their technical skills.

This is why we'll focus on the best mining pools to mine crypto as a beginner in this article. This means an overview of the biggest ones for the crypto network.

How to Join a crypto mining Pool

Now, How to join the crypto mining pool is a technical process.

First, you need to download crypto mining software. This is a piece of software that will allow your GPU a direct connection with the crypto network.

Check out this article for the best Bitcoin mining software.

Once downloaded, you need to connect your machine with the pool via the EthDev wallet, the pool operator's address. Most mining software has a list of the biggest pools and their addresses. But if you want to connect to a smaller pool, you'll need to get their address and manually configure the connection.

If successful, you'll start seeing the crypto mining pool statistics show in your interface. It will detail the current hash power generated and other technical data.

If a block is mined successfully, you'll receive the amount to the wallet associated with your client. The fee will be automatically charged every time you are sent crypto from the pool.

As said, how to join the crypto mining pool is a technical process. There are very comprehensive guides for it on the f2pool website and in Ethermine. You should research them thoroughly before attempting to do it alone.

Having learnt about the best mining pool that offer services according to region. We also need to know the system requirements and other terms and conditions needed to participate. For example, as a Nigerian, I can say mining is not conversant like investing in Cryptos because their are no mining firms around! This author supposed to broaden the write up to reveal whether developing countries are accepted worldwide or are closed up from mining? To me finding answers to this question would make this excerpt relevant for educating Nigerian crypto community.
