Grayscale Continues to Move to Dominate the Crypto Market after Buying 2.4% of Total BTC

About a week ago, Grayscale bought a 17,000 BTC, which means the company now manages 2.4% of the Bitcoin in circulation. There's presently an increment of capital under the administration in Grayscale's Bitcoin trust by over $180million.

Based on the facts gotten from Bybt, the firm has increased its Bitcoin trust holding by 17,100 as of last week. Greyscale now has a total of 449,900 BTC in its possession, which happens to be approximately $4.9 billion.

The new development means that Grayscale now commands around 2.4% of the total supply of coins. At the current rate, it doesn't seem like Grayscale is stopping at the recent purchase.

With bitcoin circulation capped at 21million, Grayscale will still own more than 2% of the coin even if they stopped buying before the remaining 2.5million bitcoins are mined.

Grayscale buy out is a whale purchase! When institution like that holds large chunk of BTC under their threshold it can be dangerous when they move position to sell because most whale trade out usually leads to heaving price fall when too much liquidity is provided at once! Although there is always an advantage in whale purchase because it jerks price up when artificial scarcity has been created in the market and who knows whether the recent Bitcoin bull has been triggered by this 17,000 BTC acquisition?

I think token holders do not necessarily need to worry about Grayscale acquiring coins faster than they can be mined. Cointelegraph reported in July that the majority of the investment firm’s crypto purchases came from Bitcoin already in circulation.
