Several platforms have made conscious and active efforts to connect sidechains to better facilitate flexible and smooth transactions across crypto exchanges. According to experts, the move improves the scalability of the involved platforms and exudes a permission-free essence. In light of all this, Ripple has taken a step to incorporate Ethereum smart contracts into the XRP Ledger. This news followed some recent claims associated with the token by a popular crypto YouTube influencer.

It appears that users will soon be able to connect to decentralised apps (DApps) aligned with Ethereum thanks to the commencement of a trial phase of Ripple's new XRP Ledger sidechain.

One feature of the sidechain that Peersyst Technologies

in a tweet on October 17 was that it could interact with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

As a result of this development, Ripple users may be able to use Web3 wallets like MetaMask and XUMM Wallet more easily. Furthermore, if they migrate over, they can access DApps like Uniswap. The current sidechain also has a cross-chain bridge for moving XRP and other assets between EVM and XRP Ledger Devnet.

Developers now have the option of using either XRPL-compatible or EVM-compatible blockchains, said Mayukha Vadari, a technical engineer with RippleX. Developers now have the option of using either XRPL-compatible or EVM-compatible blockchains, said Mayukha Vadari, a technical engineer with RippleX.

He also added that developers could use XRPL's quick, affordable transactions and add Solidity-centered smart contracts to the platform. The Tendermint system created an XRP-focused, EVM-aligned sidechain with a goal of processing 1000 transactions per second (TPS).

Vadari pointed out that the XRPL Devnet already hosts EVM sidechain trials. A permission-free chain with better scalability will replace the EVM-compatible sidechain in phase two. She stated that this second phase, anticipated to launch in early 2023, aims to attain block timings comparable to those of the XRP Ledger.

Contrary to some expectations, the price of Ripple's XRP coin didn't take a significant hit as it presently trades at 0.476 dollars and has increased by 23.86% for the month.

The most recent statement was made while the United States has been suing Ripple for almost two years. Arguably, the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) has impacted the acceptance and growth of the worldwide resolution system.

Since March 2021, when Ripple made its debut rollout for a CBDC Private Ledger for banks in March 2021, it has continued to tread forward in the central bank digital currency (CBDC) space. In September 2022, it collaborated with the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan.

What do you think the future will hold for Ripple after this development? Kindly share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
