The Spanish banking behemoth Santander has announced plans to make crypto trading accessible to its clients in Brazil in the subsequent quarter, according to Mario Leao, CEO of Santander Brazil.
He also said that within the next few months, the bank ought to have a clear explanation of this conduct. The launch of the cryptocurrency-related services and activities will reportedly be announced at the company's forthcoming earnings briefing, which is slated for mid-October, according to the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper.
Leao continued by saying that they understand that this market is here to stay and that it isn't a response to rivals but rather a straightforward vision that customers have consistently called for. Therefore, the most accurate and scholarly approach must be used to do this job.
Itau, the largest bank in Latin America, has revealed plans to launch Itau Digital Assets, its own asset and tokenization system, on July 14. Both XP and Nubank confirmed the debut of their crypto assets in the month of May. Nubank plans to invest 1% of its portfolio in bitcoin, and it will also make a number of features in its user-friendly app available to consumers so they may hold, purchase, and trade bitcoin and ethereum (ETH).
After only one month of operation, Nubank, the leading digital bank in Brazil by valuation, said on Tuesday that it has one million members on its cryptocurrency trading platform.
