DAO independent firms have been seriously impacted by last month's DeFi fall, with the total worth of assets and AUM value declining massively in one month.

Following a report from DeepDAO, the joint asset under control managed by decentralized independent firms was over $290 million as of early last month. By the second week of this month, the assets under management by decentralized autonomous organizations had declined over 50% to $140 million.

Major Updates

  • Total DAO assets still down by 40% after massive DeFi price slump
  • DAO treasuries fall by 50% in one month
  • Membership grows despite the decline in price

Presently, decentralized independent firms control assets worth $172.7 million, with the sum having risen by 20% and the partial comeback realized by several major decentralized finance coins in the last week.

Despite the decline of DAO in October, the sector experienced an improvement in membership of 10%, which is 1,100, with eleven DAOs having more than 100 members each.

The total members of decentralized autonomous organizations are not necessarily a good pointer of how healthy a firm's administration may be. Presently, Banchor has the most prominent member, followed by PieDAO, Pnetwork, and DxDao. Yet, very few of their members have voted on any DAO proposal.

What do you think of the effect of DeFi's decline? Let's discuss in the comments.

Despite DAO treasuries shrinking during October, sector-wide membership increased by 1,100 (around 10%), with 11 DAOs now boasting more than 100 members each. However, a DAO’s total membership is not necessarily a good indicator of how robust an organization’s governance may be.

The effect is not unprecedented as there has been handwriting on the walls that most Defined projects were hyped aside from the fact that their are design errors in there protocols.
