What happened to the Crypto market last weekend?

Bitcoin News

In case you missed it over the weekend, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies experienced a somewhat volatile weekend. Most of which were extremely bullish, especially for bitcoin. There was a tremendous surge in the price of the major altcoin. The price for bitcoin Friday on the market was not entirely but almost at $30,000. But Saturday morning saw it break past the $30,000 level and surge to $33,000. By late afternoon of the same day, however, it had dropped back to below $32,000. Just in December, the number one cryptocurrency gained by close to 50%.

This is an impressive feat for a currency that was worth $10,000 back in September 2020. It had registered a new all-time high by Sunday, reaching $34,830 in the early hours of trading before it ended the week at $33,123.

Ethereum News

Ethereum, on the other hand, also saw some action in its price over the weekend. On Friday, January 1, although the general uptrend's price stayed unchanged, it's price dropped to $730. the very next day, it added 6% and jumped up to $775, although it kept soaring but hit resistance at $790 later the same day. By Sunday, January 3, it had skyrocketed to $980, approximating a 26.4 percent growth in barely 24 hours! There was a lot of expectation that it would break the $1000 barrier the following day, and it did.

DOGEcoin News

The price of DOGE was above $0.012 as the price of Bitcoin surged towards new all-time highs surpassing $34,500. It added 131 percent to its value in the past seven days and registered a 204 percent increase every month, making it one of the best performing altcoins in the current bull run.

As of this time last year, the coin's price was sitting at $0.00204887. It received some spotlight after Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted about it on December 21. Despite its low price, it has a market capitalization of over a billion US dollars.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin became clear leaders in the market. They were among the top gainers in last weekend's market. It is expected that they would continue to show tremendous growth and set new all-time highs. A new season is here, the season of the cryptocurrencies.

It is dumbfounding to see how crypto was gaining value even on a special festive weekend when most businesses are on hold!! I think crypto has set for the moon.
