Grayscale seems to be diversifying its portfolio, the investment company recently acquired 80% of all the Litecoin mined in February and pumped $35million into purchasing Stellar.

Since the beginning of 2021, Digital asset manager Grayscale has added an impressive amount of crypto investments to its cryptocurrency assets under management portfolio. The company has a Bitcoin Trust valued at $31.2 billion AUM and an Ethereum Trust valued at $4.7 billion AUM. Its most recent acquisition, the Grayscale Litecoin Trust, is worth about $244.5 million.

Major Signals

  • Digital asset manager, Grayscale, has a Bitcoin Trust valued at $31.2 billion AUM and an Ethereum Trust valued at $4.7 billion AUM.
  • It recently acquired 174,939 LTC, which is approx 80% of all the Litecoin mined last month.
  • It also acquired 6,568,516 XLM for $2,799,760 in its latest transaction in the past 24 hours.
  • Their total crypto assets stands at crypto assets under management have risen to $30.4 billion.

Last month alone, the Financial asset management institution bought 243,519 ETH, 174,939 LTC, and some other altcoins. This is considering that miners minted about 201,600 LTC just last month alone. This implies that approx 80% of all the Litecoin mined last month was scooped up by Grayscale.

Grayscale bought 6,568,516 XLM for $2,799,760 in its most recent transaction in the last 24 hours. With the latest acquisitions, the company's overall crypto assets under management have risen to $30.4 billion. Grayscale began last year with just $2 billion in assets under management but, by the year's end, had assets worth over $20 billion, a 900% increase.

Grayscale clients prefer buying shares in a Grayscale trust rather than purchasing cryptocurrencies directly, mostly because it benefits from offering hassle-free access to cryptocurrency, especially in the area of secure storage and management of cryptocurrency properties.

There's also the advantage of more specific tax laws for shares, which means investors can keep them in tax-advantaged accounts like a Roth IRA. Of course, for their services, Grayscale requires a yearly fee ranging from 2% to 3% of the trust's value. The Litecoin Trust offers a 2.5 percent annual fee.

Grayscale has gained a reputation as a bullish market mover because of its buys and (potential) listings. When they were rumored to open a Chainlink Trust, it resulted in a 20% breakout for LINK.

Since Litecoin revealed the Grayscale purchase, the price of LTC has risen by over 6%.
