Nations worldwide are now adopting several cryptocurrencies into their activities, and the trend keeps gaining traction with time. With El Salvador becoming the first country to adopt Bitcoin as its official currency, governments like Turkey and Russia are following suit by improving the use of cryptocurrencies in their economic activities. Uzbekistan is also joining this train to embrace a cryptocurrency system in the coming year.
Recent reports have revealed that Uzbek authorities have begun giving local crypto service providers official permits as they prepare for the country to roll out a new cryptocurrency system in 2023.
Following a declaration made public on November 17, Uzbekistan's primary cryptocurrency market regulator, the National Agency for Perspective Projects (NAPP), has granted the country's first cryptocurrency licenses.
The licenses formally permit two "cryptocurrency retailers," Crypto Trade NET LLC and Crypto Market LLC, to provide services associated with cryptocurrencies.
Both Crypto Trade NET and Crypto Market are situated in Tashkent, based on the most recent information from the NAPP's electronic license record. The statement also lists Kamolitdin Nuritdinov as the sole creator and shareholder of the crypto market. The sole owner and stakeholder of Crypto Trade NET are Behzod Achilov.
Both platforms appeared to be running an active website at this post's time. As shown in the statement, the NAPP has granted licenses to the two businesses following the presidential decree that established guidelines for the circulation of digital assets in Uzbekistan and was published in April 2022.
The announcement follows the government of Uzbekistan's recent blocking of many significant international cryptocurrency exchanges. This development comes from a valid permit to provide cryptocurrency trading services.
The restriction only impacted crypto juggernauts like Binance and Huobi, while customers allegedly managed to reach their websites via VPN services. In August 2022, the NAPP announced the restrictions. However, it appears the announcement has since been removed.
The most recent licenses coincide with Uzbekistan's active preparations to develop a new policy structure for cryptocurrencies in a few months.
