Trump Illness has Made Traders Experience more Volatility in Bitcoin

Just after President Donald Trump was tested positive for COVID-19 and allegations were raised against the founders of BitMEX, Bitcoin began to drop as on Thursday and Friday.

These two cases seem to have lead to the drop of around 5% for the top cryptocurrency, therefore persisting a period of not typical gentleness in an often unsteady market. In the last 30 days, Bitcoin fluctuations happen to have lowered 43%, checking the data by coin Metrics.

Most traders are currently pessimistic since the weekend. The market rates on the top derivative exchanges turned apparently down on Friday; even with that, traders took high amounts of short positions, as the down rate continues.

Even with the whole situation, some buyers still reversed former declines, driving Bitcoin up by 2.5% from the previous week's price.

I think it is possible that Mr Trump didn’t want to give the impression that the illness has set him back. Traders took it as an indication that he wants the economy to be as open as possible, in the current climate.

The virus is new so there are a lot of unknowns surrounding it, and even though the US leader seems to be recovering, some dealers probably half suspect the health issue will resurface again.
