Dear Remitano users,
Your security is our utmost priority as we always strive to maintain the highest standards of quality on Remitano platform. By far, we guarantee that your assets are still fully protected and will not be subjected to any unexpected losses.
On September 14, 2023, our Security Management team discovered a data breach from
a third-party source that had compromised some of our sensitive information. As a result, a small amount of funds from the exchange's hot wallets were transferred to suspicious wallet addresses through unauthorized withdrawal transactions.
Immediately upon detecting the breach, we have taken decisive actions to mitigate impacts on our users. In response to this unfortunate situation, a specialized investigation team was promptly established to thoroughly examine the incident and fully enhance our overall security infrastructure to prevent any further occurrences. We understand the seriousness of this matter and we want to assure you that Remitano is actively taking steps to address all security concerns and rectify the situation.
Latest Updates: Several measures were made to address recent incident as following:
- User funds were immediately transferred to secure cold wallets, offering the strongest layer of security.
- Initiated collaboration with trusted cybersecurity and wallet partners, including Cyvers Alerts and Tether, to closely monitor and lock all of the funds accessed by the hackers.
- Temporarily suspend of coin deposit and withdrawal system for maintenance and upgrades.
- Enhance security infrastructure across all systems.
- Regular updates on the progress of comprehensive Investigation led by Remitano Security Management Team.
As of now, Remitano ensures that users’ assets have NOT been and will NOT be affected by this incident. We are working tirelessly to uphold our commitment to ensuring the security and protection of your crypto assets.
Coin Deposit and Withdrawal Recovery Plan
Currently, we are conducting essential maintenance on our coin deposit/withdrawal system. This may result in temporary delays and interruptions in coin deposits and withdrawals. We anticipate this maintenance to last for approximately 48 hours.
Please note that Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin chains are still working as normal, while other networks may experience some temporary service limitations.
In the meantime, we strongly urge you NOT to deposit to old addresses to avoid unexpected loss. For stronger protection, it is required that all users generate new deposit addresses when making a deposit order through every chain (except for BTC, BCH, LTC Chains).
