It started as a mere intention in April 2018, I was then an undergraduate who really needed a side income. I was determined to break the gender barriers attached to the cryptocurrency niche but I had a huge financial constraint in terms of capital. I even lacked the know-how but I practically dreamt of being a crypto millionaire.
Since I was just an undergraduate, I went for an internship in the state's capital, there I met Sunday. He was a lot older than me but our rapport was really cool. Sunday was also a graduate and was well-grounded in cryptocurrency. This gave me the opportunity to learning based on our "friendship". He taught me a few basics and promised to empower me after the 3 months internship.
Three months passed and the end of my internship came, at that time, I was acting as a "middleman". Here, I connected buyers to sellers and at the end of the transaction, the highest I got was 200 Naira airtime except for a few good friends who paid at most 1000 Naira. Sunday had to relocate leaving me with the little crypto knowledge I had. Worse still, we lost contact.
For more than six months after my internship, I was still acting as a middleman, but I kept doing it, at least it saved me on days I was down to zero Naira. Then, one day, a friend entrusted me with 100,000 Naira to keep for him for a while. I thought luck had finally smiled on me as I decided to use it as a capital to start my crypto business independently since I was going to make the money back including some profit.
My luck was trampled on when I got scammed through an escrow group where I lost Wale's (my said friend) money without my bitcoins wallet funded. I had no Bitcoin, I had no money! This rendered me devastated and I finally gave up on cryptocurrency. I had to do something to get Wale's money back. I kept grinding day and night till I fell critically ill due to the stress of the menial job I did at that time.
My inner self told me I was done with cryptocurrency and indeed, "I was done!" I even stopped being a middleman and got myself completely off the cryptocurrency grid.
November 2019, I stumbled upon a YouTube video that explained how to make money from cryptocurrency but then I was done so I ignored it. That same month, I luckily got a project from a foreign client but had no means of receiving payments from a foreign country so I reached out to a friend to use his PayPal account but he bluntly refused for reasons best known to him. He also advised me to get paid by bitcoins or gift card. That was when I remembered I had a bitcoin wallet which the client agreed to pay to. My God! I have $300 in my wallet. That was really a big payout for me then, so I sold $100 worth of bitcoins to one of my previous vendors during my time as a "middleman" and left $200 worth of bitcoins in my wallet.
Then, I went back to watch the YouTube video alongside other videos on trading bitcoins. After getting a maximum knowledge base, I started my crypto business with the $200 worth of bitcoins in my wallet which at that time had risen due to bitcoin rise into the market. Also, after maximising the use of market trends, I traded and made profits, buying and holding and most times day trading, I became a better trader by the day. Those pains I went through paid off after all...
