South Korea Confiscates Over $100 Million from Terra's Co-founder: Report.

The arrest warrant issued against Terraform Labs CEO Do Kwon by South Korean authorities rocked the crypto world some months ago. This incident even included Interpol's intervention after they issued a Red Notice. South Korean prosecutors charged Kwon with financial fraud and violating the country's capital market laws. According to recent actions, they recently moved to seize his assets on suspicion of violating securities laws.

In light of this, recent reports reveal that South Korean prosecutors have confiscated over 100 million dollars' worth of Daniel Shin's assets. This co-founder of Terraform Labs was also involved in the downfall of the Terra ecosystem in May.

YTN says that the prosecutor's motion to hold 140 billion won in gains made by Shin through the sale of pre-issued LUNA tokens at a premium price without telling average investors was granted by the court.

Daniel Shin to Work with the Prosecution

The demand to take Shin's assets is part of a more extensive investigation to establish evidence against Terraform Labs that the co-founder made unauthorized earnings from digital assets tied to Terra, along with the collapsed LUNA and UST tokens, now known as LUNC and USTC.

Authorities think Shin sold the tokens secretly before the enterprise failed, breaking local capital restrictions. However, his attorney allegedly refuted the charges, stating they were untrue.

Additionally, according to the prosecution, he unlawfully transmitted customer transaction data from his payment technology company, Chai Corporation, to Terraform Labs and was responsible for Terra's crash. The court's ruling wants to dissuade the Terra executive from selling the assets before this week's trial.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Shin quit working for Terraform Labs in late 2020 when he left the organization to create Chai. However, it is unknown whether Shin continued to invest in Terraform after his departure.

Do Kwon Agrees to Reveal the Whereabouts

Do Kwon, the CEO and creator of Terraform Labs, isn't left out of this scenario. While Hyun-Seong is assisting prosecutors, he has been on the run since May after receiving a "red notice" and having his passport purportedly revoked.

Although Kwon's whereabouts are unknown, rumors suggest that the founder of Terra is currently in Europe. The blockchain developer committed to host a conference and reveal his whereabouts.

Notwithstanding the arrest warrant for Kwon, South Korean police are still finding it challenging to compile evidence against the founder of Terra because of the absence of clear regulations around crypto assets in the nation.

Kwon, according to the prosecution, broke capital market regulations. On the other hand, the CEO of Terraform Labs asserts that the accusations against him are politically driven and that the authorities have overstepped their bounds in their prosecution.

This Terraform fraud saga is proving to be a string of missteps and a knot that's hard to untie. Do you have predictions about how it'll go? Kindly share them with us in the comments section.
