Michael Cohen, an executive at Mychargeback, says Scammers now tend to use crypto for their fraudulent actions because of its irreversible nature.

In one of the mails received when he first started, Nakamoto avoided a complaint laid by a client who stated that BTC transactions are not finalized immediately. He explained that though BTC transactions don't have an immediate reversal mechanism and delivery is much faster than the existing systems.

Cohen stated that credit card chargeback is likely even after a year and a half and can be classified into two. The first is the unauthorized use, which is when a scammer can initiate a transaction using your credit card.

The second scenario is the authorized usage, when the card owner initiated the transaction but ended up not okay with the outcome.
He furthered that digital currency users might only retrace the unauthorized category trades, as some sectors have been excluded from the other category.

Michael Cohen explained a scenario of antics used by fraudsters that involve them pretending to be offering a service to an unsuspecting client and later manipulating the client to pay for the service rendered or demanding for a crypto payment. However, there's no need for the victim to panic as there may be some avenue to trace the transaction he affirmed.

Unfortunately, it's a very nice tool for a scammer to have as a means to collect funds. I think it serves in the disinterest of those who are looking to promote the general and universal usage of crypto. It is somewhat of a stumbling block because of all of the people who are getting scammed. Btc is easier to use and not easy to Trace

Instantant non-repudiability is not a feature, but it's still much faster than existing systems. Paper cheques can bounce up to a week or two later. Credit card transactions can be contested up to 60 to 180 days later. Bitcoin transactions can be sufficiently irreversible in an hour or two.

I don't see much threat in the opinion view of Micheal Cohen because scamming is not a brain child of crypto adoption but a corruption that transcends from the traditional systems to the new. The scammers have been known to make their way around this ignorant and the gullible of all time. I believe that scammers take advantage of system weaknesses and bugs to defraud the unknowing victims and that is why most contents have always come with terms and conditions with help desk to assist where probably necessary. If crypto users are attacked by scammers it is so because they give in to that and not because security precautions like 2FA and other code-based controls fail to protect funds.
