Many reactions have sprung up in light of recent regulations by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). While some believe it hinders existing activities and innovations, others see it as an optimistic indication for specific stakeholders in the crypto space.

Over the past few months, the U.S. SEC has intensified its efforts. It has conducted more formal inquiries slightly into the collapsed cryptocurrency businesses Celsius Network and Three Arrows Capital. It also made a rumoured inquiry into Yuga Labs and the more significant non-fungible token (NFT) market.

In addition, it penalised reality television personality Kim Kardashian by $1.26 million for improperly endorsing the EthereumMAX cryptocurrency.

In regards to all these, a recent survey has revealed that most cryptocurrency investors view the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) aggressive enforcement of the crypto business as a promising sign.

About 338 out of the 564 participants in the most recent Bloomberg MLIV Pulse survey said they regard the new influx of crypto crackdowns as a good indication for investing in the asset class.

Compared to 56% of sophisticated investors, almost 65% of regular investors indicated they would invest if more enforcement against crypto existed.

Despite all this, just 35% of retail and 44% of professional investors indicated that increased regulatory action would decrease their interest in investing.

Investor mood looks at odds with the criticism levelled at the SEC for treating cryptocurrencies in a manner they refer to as "regulation by enforcement" by numerous U.S. lawmakers and crypto industry members.

In September, the SEC's enforcement head, Gurbir Grewal, stated that the agency would look into cryptocurrency firms irrespective of claims that it hurt innovations.

By establishing an Office of Crypto Assets in September that is solely charged with interacting with applications and offerings related to crypto assets, the SEC has improved its capability to handle unique issuer filings.

Given the attention that crypto regulations have received from investors, several prominent cryptocurrencies have been stuck in a narrow price range for months, and 43% of those polled stated that they intend to increase their commitment to cryptocurrencies over the next year.
