Six out of the 109 persons arrested recently by the police in China for their involvement in the $5.8 billion cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme have been charged.
The six suspects were accused of conspiring and directing several Ponzi schemes.

109 individuals allegedly involved in the PlusToken Ponzi scheme were captured in July. This includes 27 individuals alleged to be managers of the criminal scheme plus 82 major promoters.
The alleged leader of the scam was also captured in May while six other suspects were transferred to China last year in July.
In 2018, PlusToken launched as a cryptocurrency trading firm based in South Korea, providing interest returns of 10% to 30% monthly.
The Ponzi scheme got over 200,000BTC, 789,000ETH, and 26,000,000EOS from their victims last year.
