Turkish Police Dissembles  Crypto Scammers Having 101 Captives

According to investigations, 18 Chinese nationals suspected involved in the gang were computer engineers and programmers and also promised the Captives a work opportunity on their scam.

That there was a crypto scam perpetrated by a chinese gang, who were exposed by the Turkish Police

As a matter of fact, this crime took place in Turkey and information has it that the gang adopted some individuals who were held captive and forced to run scam operations.

The gang established a fake crypto investment consultancy agency with the 101 Captives as employees, thereby turning into a massive criminal operation.

18 Chinese nationals who masterminded the crime were computer engineers and programmers.

The 101 captives were used as their employees and equally promised a work opportunity in their scam.

The scam published online ads with texts such as "hand over your virtual money to us , we will win twice and give it back to you".

The Public Security Branch Extortion Bureau Team developed 100 police officers to crack down on the gang.

The Captives were from countries like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, China with tourist visas.

The 18 suspects have been detained, while six of them have been transferred to the courthouse. Then the others are banned from leaving the country.

Turkish Police (General Directorate Of Security) stated that two Chinese hostages alerted China's consulate about the situation, who then reported the crypto scam to the Istanbul authorities.

Among other things confiscated were 112 computers, 677 SIM cards, 712 cell phones, $200,000 worth in different fiat currencies, 43 debit and credit cards.

The Captives received compensations for their work despite their conditions, but the fact remains that these money cannot be spent because their passports are in the hands of their captors.
