There are 8,947 cryptocurrency ATMs and 211,239 non-ATM sites, according to the database Coinatmradar Cryptocurrency ATM tracker, and you may obtain or sell in over 71 nations. ATM is a device that allows debit or credit cardholders to withdraw cash from their bank accounts. The ATM users are also able to print part of the account details. The pullout of money from the card registrant's ATM is usually free, while card owners of other banks have to pay a certain amount of money. More complex ATMs are also available with advance options such as funds deposited or credit card payment facilitation.

With Bitcoin ATMs, two primary forms are available: the most simple, enabling users to purchase Bitcoins and to purchase more sophisticated ATMs, allowing the users to buy and sell virtual currency. With specialized ATMs, the ATM may only be used by the representatives of a particular ATM manufacturer. By July 2020, Genesis Coin and General Bytes, with 34,6% and 30,3% of the market share, were the leading manufacturers of the Bitcoin ATMs.

As of July 2020, the most significant amount of Bitcoin ATMs in the USA was registered. Altogether, about 83% of world ATMs in North America were focused.
