At the time of writing, the pair was hitting $38,000 resistance, with three-day declines reaching 12 percent.

Despite the "out of hours" market situation, the trajectory for the largest cryptocurrency was down as experts' opinions on global markets shifted.

On the day, financial expert Holger Zschaepitz stated, "Global equities have lost $2.9 trillion in market capitalization this week as the conflict might spark a big stagflationary crisis."

Many fear that if a larger TradFi adjustment occurs, an already unstable crypto market may suffer just as severely – at least at first.

Pentoshi, a well-known trader and expert, also predicted a replay of the global crash that triggered the Terrible Crash 90 years ago.

On the other hand, many well-known commentators took a quite different attitude. Bloomberg Intelligence's newest crypto market outlook study, published on March 4, stayed upbeat on Bitcoin and Ether (ETH).

"Most assets will be susceptible to receding tides in 2022, on the inevitable reversion of the greatest inflation in four decades, but this year might be a watershed moment for Bitcoin," it reads.

Coinbase bars access to 25k Russian accounts

Coinbase, the top US-based crypto exchange, has restricted "over 25,000 addresses linked to Russian individuals or organizations we presume to be partaking in illegal behavior, many of which we have recognized by our own protective audits," per an official blog post published today, March 7th, 2022.

The corporation has also supplied these accounts with the US government to "assist restrictions implementation."

According to the article, the company is "fully compliant to restrictions."

Coinbase validates user applications against restricted people or entity lists kept by the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United Nations, Singapore, Canada, and Japan during registration.

In any case, Coinbase did the operation only days after the firm's CEO stated that the company would abide by Russian restrictions.

Many people have wondered if cryptocurrency may be used to get over the restrictions placed on Russia due to its attack on Ukraine.

According to Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, he does not believe this is likely.

“However, we do not believe that Russian oligarchs would use crypto to circumvent restrictions. Attempting to smuggle large sums of money using crypto would be more detectable than using US dollars, art, gold, or other valuables since it is a public ledger.”

Armstrong also stated in the same discussion that Coinbase would not proactively restrict Russians from utilizing the platform.
