The Castle Island Partner said that he does not recommend Elon Musk to champion the green Bitcoin campaign, keeping in mind the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Carter proceeded to say that the Bitcoin community is not entirely confident in Elon Musk as some members believe that since he occasionally trades digital assets, Tesla’s recent actions concerning Bitcoin could be solely for Musk’s personal interest.

Major Updates

  • Nic Carter proposes the creation of greener Bitcoin mining grids
  • Carter calls on Bitcoin miners to demonstrate transparency
  • More crime is committed using the American Dollar than Bitcoin
  • Bitcoin mining council to boost the utilization of renewable energy

Nevertheless, Carter noted that the excessive use of fossil fuels to mine Bitcoin is an issue that must be looked into, regardless of who points it out, referring to the just established Bitcoin Mining Council. He added that being a decentralized currency that is quite opposed to regulatory authorities, Bitcoin will always be preferred and continue to emerge unmatched.

Carter went on to suggest that rather than prohibit Bitcoin, world leaders should provide greener grids to mine Bitcoin. He opined that miners would be exonerated if they displayed transparency regarding the type of energy they use in mining Bitcoin, making an example of North America and how the Bitcoin miners use cleaner energy to mine Bitcoin.

Nic Carter continued by saying that he doesn’t believe that Bitcoin is used for illegal transactions. Arguing that all financial structures get used for illicit purposes and the American Dollar is used more than Bitcoin to further unlawful agendas. He told Bloomberg that since the Dollar is yet to be outlawed in any part of the world, it seems rather questionable to link Bitcoin with nefarious conducts.

Conclusion

The Bitcoin Mining Council was created in the aftermath of a meeting organized by Micheal Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy, between top Bitcoin Miners in North America and Elon Musk. The number one aim of the council is to advocate the use of sustainable energy and encourage transparency in Bitcoin mining.
