The Colombian ministry of technology has released a guide that permits the public to use the blockchain technology and involve in cryptocurrency transactions.
According to the ministry, the country is lagging in adopting digital assets, including blockchain, compared to countries in Europe and some Asian countries.
The institutions behind the guide indicated 10 ways crypto can be adopted in the country, including Payments for services, management of taxes, voting, and several others.
According to the organizations, the proposed ways are to improve confidence and transparency when using the blockchain technology to strengthen security infrastructure.
There have been several failed attempts to manage and regulate the crypto niche in Colombia. For instance, a draft bill was passed last year in April to regulate activities on crypto platforms. The bill aims to state explicitly how crypto exchange firms in the country should operate.
