VISA Hires Blockchain Engineer with Extensive Knowledge on Ethereum

VISA, the popular company that you might know from your credit cards, was looking to hire a blockchain engineer with extensive knowledge on Ethereum. The job offer (that has apparently been filled by someone) stated that VISA wants to hire the said blockchain engineer to join a team that can build a “distributed application”. The company is also interested in someone who has very good knowledge of Bitcoin, R3 enterprise blockchain, and XRP.

VISA itself is one of the biggest companies when it comes to payments. They are processing 150 million transactions daily and they were also a member of the Libra Association before they decided to quit after a short period of time.

While the job offer itself didn’t specifically state how the distributed application could look like, many crypto enthusiasts have speculated that they might want to create a new payment system by utilizing the blockchain ecosystem.

So far, many traditional companies have been experimenting with blockchain technology. However, there is still no mainstream application that has successfully utilized blockchain technology and is used by the majority of people outside the crypto community. VISA is trying to change that narrative.
