With a total of 21 million bitcoin mined, there is less than 3 million Bitcoin remaining to be produced.
ChartBTC on their Twitter account posted that the BTC platform has crossed the 18.5 million mark in the market. This indicates that only about 2.5 million Bitcoin is remaining to be produced, which is about 11.9%.
It was also said that 50% of the unmined Bitcoin would be mined over the next four years. After the Genesis block eleven years ago, the BTC platform has experienced three halving events, with the latest halving occurring in May 2020.
The distribution of new tokens is divided every four years; hence, the last BTC will not be mined until the year 2104.
It has also been reported that the third halving is unlike the previous ones as more persons are looking on keeping their funds in Bitcoin.
