Venezuela's government is yet to release a statement on a partnership that allows Petro to be listed on exchanges abroad.
An overseas exchange located in New York has listed a token with a similar name as the Venezuela digital currency PTR. However, both assets are not in any way connected.

Some similarly named crypto as some international exchanges have listed petro for trades and transactions on their platform. However, it is essential to note that PTR hasn't been listed on any foreign crypto exchange.

Based on the report, just seven local exchanges offer PTR for transactions, and these exchanges are not available for people outside the country. This isn't the first time a mix-up would increase the price for an asset not connected to petro.

In 2018 when the token was officially announced, another token named PetroDollar (XPD) experienced a rapid increase of over 2000%. A bill that gives PTR a legal backing for tax payments and sanctions in Venezuela has recently been approved.

It is a grand achievement for Venezuela to have moved from CBDC creation to Petro policy and legal framework development for its adoption.
