According to reports, Joel Greenberg, a former tax collector in Seminole County, requested a $65,860 from the tax office to purchase servers for a private company.

However, he allegedly refunded the money. Last year September, Joel requested $65,860 from the tax office, an amount enough to purchase twenty servers, and the office issued a check to the company the following day. The company later showed a receipt claiming just fifteen servers were purchased.

Joel explained that he wanted “to build a platform that would transfer residents’ information from drivers’ licenses to a secure platform.”

The company was registered last year in June and was dissolved three months ago. However, he claimed that the company was established for the tax office to generate more revenue.
