- Mark Cuban foresees more adoption of Ether following the transition to Eth 2.0
- 2022 Bitcoin conference begins with great fanfare as a bull is commissioned to cement Miami’s place as the crypto capital of the world.
Mark Cuban is Excited About the Growth of Ether
In a couple of months from now, Ethereum will upgrade its infrastructure to Eth 2.0, a less energy-intensive and environment-friendly approach using the proof-of-stake model. This transition has been praised by investors, especially Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks. Cuban believes that the move will lead to greater adoption of Ether due to its greener impact.
In addition, Cuban foresee that the change could make Ether a deflationary asset. Moreover, he said the coin mining would become slower while the coin supply would decrease up to 90%.

Interestingly, Mark Cuban had not always favored cryptocurrencies as assets, but he changed his stance. Much so that he praised Bitcoin and proclaimed it a better asset than gold, his stance is more evident in his basketball team, accepting various cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin, as payments for tickets and merchandise.
However, Ethereum is unarguably Cuban’s favorite digital asset. In October of 2021, while advising beginner investors, he said, “As an investment, I think Ethereum has the best upside.” This advice came in the wake of three reasons he previously proferred for why ETH will top Bitcoin in the future. The reasons were: a larger amount of transactions, different transaction types, and development in Vitalik Buterin’s brainchild.

Mayor of Miami Welcome Bitcoin Conference attendees with Robotic Bull
The Bitcoin conference for 2022 kicked off in Miami with a unique event, a charging bull similar to the Wall Street bull in New York. The mechanical bull, which weighs 3000 pounds and spots laser-blue eyes, was presented on April 6 at the venue of the conference, the Miami Beach Convention Centre. While showcasing the bull, Mayor Francis Suarez stated that it is a monument recognizing Miami’s importance as a center for cryptocurrencies.
Predictably, the bull drew mixed reactions from critics. Critics at Intelligencer branded it “a crime against God,” while more positive remarks came from Binance’s leader CZ and Morgan Digital co-founder Anthony Pompliano who tweeted positive remarks about the bull.“ The bull will move to a new home at the end of the conference on April 9.
Five stages will be used at this year’s conference, with the largest capable of carrying 15000 attendees. The line-up of speakers at the conference features Paypal founder Peter Thiel, NFL star Odell Beckham Jr., and MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor. A key speaker absent from this conference is President Nayib Bekele of El Salvador due to an outbreak of gang violence in his nation. This situation has led to a state of emergency being imposed on the country, thereby curtailing the civil rights of citizens and attracting the attention of international human rights bodies. The absence of Bekele is especially notable as he had announced plans for his country to utilize Bitcoin as an acceptable legal tender at last year's conference.

Participants at this conference would have noted that Bitcoin has suffered a bearish run recently compared to its bullish run to open the year. The coin is down 6.26% for the week and 4.37% in the last 24 hours to a weekly low of $43,401, according to data from Coin telegraph.
