The Global Problem with Fiat Currencies will Eventually Benefit Bitcoin

News • 2020/07/08 • by Remitano

Coinbase’s Institutional Coverage team member, Max Bronstein, has made a bold claim that there will be “fireworks” in the global fiat market. These fireworks will eventually impact BTC price positively as Bitcoin supply is not steered by any central government and that’s a huge benefit for BTC HODLers.

Max believes that the global monetary system was already a big problem by itself even before the COVID-19 era. However, with the current pandemic, many monetary policies become even more uncontrollable and many developing countries’ fiat currencies has become very vulnerable due to the low dollar reserves and tightly linked debts to the dollar valuation.

Fiat currencies with a big risk of hyperinflation are fiat of countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Turkey. The devaluation of Argentinian Peso, for example, has severely impacted the inflation rate in the country. Many people from these countries might look for an alternative, and that alternative could be Bitcoin.

It’s been proven over and over again that Bitcoin use case often goes up in countries with severe inflation problems. Venezuelan, Iranians, and many others have been seeing the rise of Bitcoin’s popularity in their countries.
