You may have heard several theories regarding the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, and yet, another claim has resurfaced. According to Leah McGrath Goodman, Satoshi Nakamoto is not a group of individuals as some postulate, but a Japanese-American man named Dorian Nakamoto.
McGrath Goodman, a Newsweek journalist, has reiterated her earlier assertions while speaking on a podcast on August 25th. She said her claims are based on research she conducted, coupled with her communications with Dorian Nakamoto.
While explaining how she arrived at her conclusions, she noted that before her first publication in 2014 about Dorian, she had contacted some pioneers of bitcoin via email to aid with her investigations.
According to her narrative, the responses from two of the pioneers, Gavin Andresen and Hal Finney, led her to ditch the notion that Satoshi Nakamoto was a group of persons. She also ruled out Nick Szabo as a possible candidate, as she believes that his itinerary didn't match with the profile and type of work Satoshi may have done in the formative stage of bitcoin.
So how did McGrath Goodman arrived at her conclusions that Dorian was Satoshi? McGrath said she had visited Dorian for an interview and other reporters who were witnesses, and he had responded with the statement - ''I am no longer a part of that''.
Although Dorian later stated that he wasn't referring to bitcoin, McGrath did not find his rebuttal convincing. The news had been agog about his possible identity as the founder of bitcoin before the interview with reporters.
Interestingly as McGrath claims stand, the facts she presented could also be disputed as circumstantial. Therefore, It's alright to say," will the real Satoshi please stand up"?
