File Coin founder says Miners are active on File protocol and getting paid to do so.

Juan Benet, the developer of Filecoin, has regarded claims that FIL miners have stopped operation as false. Benet claimed that the protocol's growth rate was because miners followed the Filecoin management's advice to reduce its growth rate.

Major Updates:

  • Some of the biggest miners of FIL reportedly stopped operation to complain.
  • The strike was apparently due to claims that they should go long on FIL, which some miners didn't agree with.
  • Juan, however, refuted the strike claims stating that they are only manufacturing at a reduced rate.
  • He furthered that this is because they have stopped funding pledge and fee prizes.
  • Juan explained that the project required reducing their growth rate to complement their token flow or probably stop operations until they can grow gradually.

According to him, some of the reduction in growth witnessed is due to the miners agreeing and following their advice. He provided data that shows that blocks were still being manufactured and stated that it is difficult to increase its capacity at the moment.

Filecoin mainnet was released last week, bringing the possibility of trading FIL on major exchanges. In just two days, the token witnessed a 118% increase before a dip of about 80%.

What do you think of the Filecoin Strike allegations? Let's discuss in the comments.

I think the developer's position is a media FUD! some issues are not going well in this young organization at the moment. Their token boost could have been hyped to mislead investors as well...now falling 80%! What a bad way to build a project if there is fund rationing that cannot even pay miners to do normal operations.
