WHEN SHOULD I SELL MY BITCOIN?

The question should not only be when to sell your Bitcoin but what to sell your Bitcoin into. That topic is equally as important as when to sell, especially if you consider the opportunity cost associated with various investments versus just holding onto your Bitcoin.

Firstly, let us look at Time Frames. Time Frames are the most important things to consider when you want to sell your Bitcoin. If you got into Bitcoin just for the big flip, to make some gains and get out, there is a high chance that you are invested in the wrong coin of trading because there are far better opportunities in the altcoin market. You have to have in mind that, for Bitcoin to even double in price right now, it has to add over one trillion dollars worth of total market capitalization. So if you are getting into Bitcoin, you have to be ready to take that long-term time frame.

Bitcoin is not a one-day, one-week, one-month, or even a one-year kind of investment; you have to consider multi-year time frames. The people who made the biggest gains from Bitcoin bought early and held long term.

The second thing to consider is that if you sell your Bitcoin, what are you selling it for? If you are selling it for more cryptocurrency, you will get bigger gains and bigger risks from playing in the altcoin arcade.

But if you are selling Bitcoin for other cryptocurrencies, what is your goal? Or maybe you are selling your Bitcoin to buy stocks, but you have to admit that no stock has the same upside potential as Bitcoin; it is better to invest in both. Probably you want to sell your Bitcoin to buy land; if you sell your Bitcoin or use it to buy property, the price of Bitcoin will go higher. Next year, if you buy the land today, you would have bought more land if you waited for Bitcoin.

No one knows how high Bitcoin can go in the long term, but the current narrative is about taking on the market capital of gold, which could give us a per-unit price for Bitcoin around 550,000 dollars. If Bitcoin goes to a million dollars, realistically, there will not be an incredible upside left for Bitcoin. At that point, buying land, stocks, and gold becomes more attractive in generating more wealth.

Since Bitcoin is a long-term investment, the reasonable time to sell you Bitcoin is not when there is a market dump; neither is it when Bitcoin starts to dip nor when you see altcoins rising, and you feel you are missing out. The reasonable time to sell your Bitcoin is when it hits the price target you put for yourself, but have it in mind that when Bitcoin hits a million dollars per coin, there will not be much upside left for you to make a profit.

Some other investors may choose never to sell their Bitcoin with hopes that they will be able to make Bitcoin the cornerstone of their wealth portfolio.
