Cryptocurrency enthusiasts can now settle the travel bookings in cryptos, as Expedia group partners with travala.com. This partnership will give Travala's clients access to listings from Expedia. Travala announced the collaboration in an announcement shared with the Cointelegraph team on the 6th of July, 2020.
Further details that were disclosed in the announcement stated that Travala.com had added over 700,000 accommodation listings to its platform due to the partnership. Before this addition, travala had more than 2milliion listings, spread across several countries and continents. The travala platform is also one of the leading travel platforms that offer cryptocurrency payments options.
Alfonso Paredes, a senior VP of Expedia group, mentioned that the group intends to work together with the Travala team to pace up the rate of expansion for the former. He also stated that taking advantage of cryptocurrency as a payment method is innovative, which will appeal to customers, who appreciate having a variety of payment options.
The partnership, which is a direct collaboration with EPS, a subsidiary of the Expedia group, will allow travala access to Expedia listings, through an API developed by Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS).
This will not be the first partnership advancement that has been made by the travala team. The team entered a partnership with reservations giant-booking.com in November 2019. as a result of the partnership, over 90,000 listings were added to travala.com, leading to an increase in revenue by 33% for travala.com.
