We are aware that phishing attacks can be targeted to anybody on the internet, including crypto traders. These email communications would often promise some sort of funding or bogus investment opportunities to lure the reciever into providing vital personal information.
To this end, the Remitano team has beefed up security in order to stop any phishing attempts on your Remitano account. We have done this by adding the Anti-Phishing Code feature.
This is a feature set up to help our users check if an email is really from Remitano or not. We do this by setting up a secret code that only Remitano and the user would know, and which will be seen in any authentic mail from Remitano.
To set up Anti-Phishing Code on your Remitano account, follow the steps below:
Once logged into the Remitano site, go to "Settings", then "Security". Under "Security", click on "Anti-Phishing Code".
Next, click on "Change" to enable Anti-Phishing Code.
Next, generate and enter your code which allows up to 4-20 characters.
Put in your Anti-Phishing Code and get the prompt that it has been successfully updated.
Once you have enabled the Anti-Phishing Code, you will get messages like the image below, whenever there is an attempt to log into your Remitano account.
Note: The anti-phishing code should be kept secret like your transaction pin. Remitano will never ask you to provide your code either via email, phone call, or chat.
