There has been a significant rise in the sales rate of viral non-fungible token (NFT) collection CryptoPunks in the previous months regardless of the decrease in the larger scale NFT market. According to NFT data aggregator DappRadar, CryptoPunks recorded a sale rate of over 63m USD. There has a noticeable and dumbfounding rise in the collection's market capitalization and floor price; the both rising at 192% and 96% respectively.

The collection succeeded in getting notice with significant sales, which has sparked a resurgence in interest in CryptoPunks. An NFT of this type sold for ETH 2,500 last week, which is equivalent to USD 3.78 million at the time of writing, and another one sold for ETH 2,691 (USD 4 million), which was the biggest NFT sale in the past 30 days throughout the whole market.

Other NFT Collections And Reasons for Price Slump

Other high-profile NFT collections, however, have not had the same success as CryptoPunks. According to DappRadar, sales volumes for Yuga Labs' Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Otherdeed, and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) have decreased significantly over the past month by about 33 percent, 37 percent, and 36 percent, respectively. It is noteworthy that the floor prices for each of these collections have increased, by 81 percent, 111 percent, and 74 percent, respectively.

According to data from NonFungible, the overall amount of NFT sales has begun falling over the past month, with the number of sales falling by around 63 percent to 9,000 and the volume of sales in USD falling by more than 87 percent. The number of unique buyers and sellers, primary and secondary sales, and active market wallets are all down by 40 to 88 percent.

Major markets have suffered as a result of the recent NFT decline. According to reports, on June 25th, OpenSea's daily trade volume had fallen to approximately USD 837,000, its lowest level in more than a year. Since then, the primary market's trading volume has slightly risen, reaching USD 14.5m in the previous 24 hours.

Moreover, as the vast majority of NFTs are priced in ETH, the rising price of ether may increase the overall amount of NFT trading. ETH has the best weekly performance among the top ten coins by market capitalization as of 8:23 UTC on Tuesday morning, trading at USD 1,515, up 2.2 percent in a day and 38 percent in a week.
