Iran chose cryptocurrency as a medium of exchange and transaction for a global trade deal due to the economic restrictions imposed on the Islamic State, and it plans to adopt cryptocurrency as its primary means of exchange by the end of September.

In response to the issues the Islamic State has been having as a result of the economic sanctions in place for more than 10 years, senior government officials claim that Iran performed a $10 million bitcoin transaction and placed an international import order.

The report that the Islamic Republic of Iran has placed its first-ever import order using cryptocurrency was confirmed by Alireza Peyman-pak, the country's deputy minister of industry, mine, and trade. On Tuesday, he published this on Twitter.
Peyman-Pak stated that the $10 million order was the state's first trade made with cryptocurrency and that plans are being made to enable cryptocurrency to be their means of international transaction in the month of September.

However, no information regarding the currency used or the intended imported goods were disclosed.
