Vienna Stock Exchange List its First Crypto ETP

News • 2020/09/02 • by Remitano

The Vienna Stock Exchange has listed its first cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) in BTC and ETH,thereby making it the third stock-exchange globally to list a Bitcoin (BTC) product.

As indicated by the head of development of the exchange, Thomas Rainer, these new crypto products present an opportunity for experienced investors to take advantage of the best of both worlds, the stock market, and the cryptocurrency sector. He also noted that the stock market is regulated and offers a more secure platform for people to invest. Therefore, crypto traders who share concerns about the lack of adequate regulation that pervades the cryptocurrency space would be glad to seize this opportunity to trade on a secure, transparent, and regulated platform.

The CEO of 21shares, Hany Rashwan, also stated that following the listing of bitcoin and ethereum ETP on The Vienna Stock Exchange, investors in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, would now be able to access these products.

Just as Vienna has listed BTC and ETH exchange-traded products on their platform, Singapore Exchange also announced their intentions to collaborate with CryptoCompare in listing price indexes for the two foremost cryptocurrencies (BTC&ETH). Although these price indexes are not the same thing as trading cryptocurrency, it can make it easier for Singaporean firms to launch their ETP because investors/portfolio managers would be able to track asset performance in real-time.
