Key Takeaways

  • Robinhood includes a more reliable and safe feature for users of the platform.
  • The new feature will allow users to buy the exact amount of assets and not more
  • The new feature can choose to skip repeated orders or offer less than what is to be bought to protect users' deposit

Why introduce volatility protection?

Robinhood is understood to have considered the new volatility feature following the suspension of instant crypto payment options in early 2021. The instant deposit feature is a paid option that allows customers to access funds in bank deposits and stock transactions instantly.

Robinhood has made significant gains from cryptocurrency transactions, with its total revenue in Q1 rising by more than 17%. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority once again cracked down on trading applications.
On July 7, the regulator announced that Robinhood would pay a fine of approximately $1 million. Regulators claimed that their investigation revealed that the application caused "widespread and serious harm" to thousands of users.

It also pointed out that the platform experienced a systematic regulatory failure as early as February 2016. Robinhood announced that it has agreed in principle with regulators to pay some fines based on "no recognition, no denial."

It remains to be seen whether Robinhood will integrate a fiat ram for African users in the future,

Can users still trust Robinhood to trade assets despite this new feature?
