The trial initiative involves Coinstar, which operates the machine and distributes 8,000 units around the US, cooperating with Coinme, Bloomberg, and Reuters.

In September, Walmart denied having a deal with the Litecoin token's owners after a bogus press release duped major media outlets including CNBC and Reuters.
