Bitcoin Miners are responsible for a large percentage of the bitcoin that is in supply at any given time. From time to time, they Hodl their coins, especially when a bull market is approaching.
Recently, they have started to hodl once more, with many people speculating on what it could portend for bitcoin.
Major Signals
- Miners have started to once again hoard BTC for the first time since mid-to-late December 2020.
- Institutions and exchanges are left with a few BTC.
- A miner receives a reward of 6.25 BTC as an incentive for their efforts and related costs.
The miner community is a critical aspect of Bitcoin's system, as it maintains the network's structural integrity. Miners get digital currency through a process called proof-of-work. Majority of these investors have held their coins strong even as prices began trending, leaving few BTC available for coming institutions to buy.
But with no coins left on exchanges, and none coming in from miners, it's a wonder at what would happen to the bitcoin price now as two of its major supplies have been cut off and demand is still rising.
