The Russian government plans to launch a "national crypto exchange."

The past few years have witnessed cryptocurrency being adopted by governments and the states within them. Several nations have taken the initiative to incorporate different cryptocurrencies into their activities, from the unique currency to its associated technologies.

El Salvador became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as its official currency. Turkey recently introduced Ethereum to Istanbul, the country's commercial center. The latest reports have revealed that Russian legislators are working on a national cryptocurrency exchange.

According to this news, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Russia, which have a strong history of conflict over the nation's legislation on cryptocurrencies, back this initiative.

Local media reports from Nov. 23 disclose that the Duma, the lower house of the Russian government, has been in talks with market participants about changes to the country's current cryptocurrency laws on digital financial assets. The central bank will first get a presentation of the revisions, which would establish the legal foundation for a national exchange.

Member of the Duma's Committee on Economic Policy, Sergey Altuhov, emphasized the budgetary responsibility of these kinds of initiatives. He expressed how absurd it is to argue against the presence of cryptocurrencies. He added that the issue centres around how they are widely traded without government oversight. He also said the federal budget had lost billions in tax income.

Anatoly Aksakov, the chair of the Duma's Committee on Financial Markets, said in June that Russia might establish a national cryptocurrency exchange as a member of the Moscow Exchange. He described this organization as a credible one with an extensive history. At the central bank's request, the Moscow Exchange produced a law in September to permit trading in digital financial assets.

Legislation that would authorize cryptocurrency mining and selling the extracted coins was presented to the Duma earlier this month. This bill would create a Russian marketplace for cryptocurrency sales, but local miners would also be permitted to use global marketplaces. The latter scenario would exempt transactions from Russian currency controls and rules, but they would still need to be disclosed to the Russian tax office.

Is nice seeing Russia owning one. they should develop their block chain that would not be affected by Western sanctions. in all is good.
