The current volume of Ether in circulation is three times more than that of bitcoin.

The recent analytics show that one-quarter of ETH is being traded on cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide, while just 8.1% of BTC is on crypto exchanges.

Major updates:

  • Analysis from Viewbase shows that 23.6%(10.3 billion USD) of ETH sits on Exchanges.
  • Around 26 million of the tokens are traded on ten exchanges.
  • Coinbase leads the chart, holding up to 7.5% of the total Ethereum supply.
  • Expert Analyst Willy Woo believes the market is changing direction in favor of ETH.

Another cryptocurrency data aggregator also added that the current Bitcoin in circulation is reducing drastically, and with time, bitcoin might be moved.
Glassnode, in its release, also added that ETH has 14.7% of volume in the cryptocurrency exchange market world, and BTC has 14%.

What is held in exchanges do not really hold Paramount importance because one of the axiom of money is the principle of scarcity. Bitcoin is becoming institutional stock of investment for long time Hodling as uses cases are not that much but the design of Ethereum network makes it imperative to amass mass nodes as well as big use cases for its purpose to be served! Based on the two different ideologies and protocols, the scarcity of bitcoin from day trading is the bedrock of the present price uptrend pull that have been ongoing for days...the defi projects will always increase number of people buying into Ethereum tokens for investment and that will continue to increase its supply. I think the more scarce the BTC is the more valuable and the more demanded Ether is the more famous!!

Other exchanges with a vast amount of digital assets held in reserves include Bitflyer, Gate.io, Poloniex, and Hitbtc. Bituniverse and Chain.info’s data shows that overall the centralized exchanges accumulated more reserves since the first week of December. Not only are a few crypto advocates afraid that large exchanges could be compromised for billions in digital assets by hackers, but there’s also the fear of fractionally reserving bitcoins.

i think they will, people just enjoy HODL bitcoin instead of trading it. for ether, they prefer trading it than HODL it.
