Investigation reveals that there are more countries involved in the widespread bitcoin ad scam.
A popular bitcoin scam perpetrated using pictures of Australian celebs to promote fake investment schemes was discovered to originate from Russia’s capital.

The bitcoin fraud ads that capitalized on public figures like Andrew Forrest and Dick Smith are part of a global scam that uses not less than five locations in Moscow.
On the 13 of Dec., the Guardian released a report showing details about the popular Bitcoin ad scam that has been promoted by the media outlet since 2018. The Guardian accidentally ran some of these scam ads.
The latest report shows that the Guadian now has names of people who registered fake websites linked to the scam. And all the names correspond to Moscow addresses.
It was also discovered that some scams might have links to Ukrain following an investigation by OCCRP investigation that revealed similar Bitcoin Scams operating in Kyiv. A whistleblower gave out the location of the crypto scam scheme in Australia in 2020. It targeted the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, promoting the scam with the pictures of popular actor Hugh Jackman and celeb cook Gordon Ramsy.
