Africa to develop through crypto adoption
As per James Mwangi, CEO of Equity Group Holdings, Kenya's largest banking conglomerate, the African region would benefit technologically and economically if it embraces the digital asset market. Local authorities should work with policymakers to educate them on the advantages of cryptocurrency.

In a recent conversation with Bloomberg, Mwangi said that African nations should embrace the fourth industrial revolution to catch up with the rest of the world. Cryptocurrencies, he says, are an element of that change and can provide some benefits to the home economy, such as "complementing mobile money:"
"Leapfrogging on fourth industrial technology, such as cryptocurrencies, will assist Africa significantly." Cryptocurrency may also be used to supplement a mobile money wallet, but we must first speak with regulators."
According to the financer, in Kenya, mobile money transfers are more common than conventional methods. As a result, putting these new sorts of technology into them has the potential to convert Africa into a competitive market:
"We're hopeful that technology, particularly data and artificial intelligence, will be a fundamental basis for leapfrogging since we're not talking about current industrial capacity; we're beginning from scratch."

Because many Africans lack basic banking services, the use of digital assets has increased. According to a Luno poll from last year, 69% of local crypto investors invested in the asset class to enhance their families' lives.
48% of those polled said they allocated their wealth to pay for their children's future school fees, while 43% said they wished to set up a fund to pass on to their relatives.
When the Central African Republic proclaimed bitcoin legal cash this month, cryptocurrency usage in Africa reached a new high. As a result, it is the second nation, after El Salvador, where the major digital asset is a legal tender.

Russia will eventually legalize Crypto
Denis Manturov, Russia's Industry and Trade Minister, stated that cryptocurrency would be legalized as a payment option "in some format or another" in the future. The authorization would be a powerful rebuke to the central bank's plan for a complete prohibition on all digital asset ventures.

In a recent interview with Reuters, Manturov stated that the Russian legislature and central bank would ultimately resolve their disagreement and recognize crypto as a form of payment, with the only question being the exact form of the regulations:
"Now that the central bank and authorities are making progress on it, the concern is how it will be controlled when this occurs." However, most people are aware of this... This will be done in some shape or another sooner or later."
The minister said that the country's central bank would first propose a regulatory regime, which the government will then adapt or change.

The Bank of Russia also wants to introduce a digital ruble. The financial instrument, unlike bitcoin, will be closely supervised by the bank. Russia may begin "real-world digital ruble transactions" in 2023, according to CryptoPotato, to use it for foreign payments.
