According to a job posting on Apple's website yesterday, the company is looking for a business development manager with five years experience working in or with alternative payment providers, such as digital wallets, BNPL, Fast Payments, and bitcoin."

Since last year, more crypto platforms has integrated Apple Pay, one of Apple's top products into their services.

The WPC (Apple Wallets, Payments, and Commerce) team, which is searching for specialists for developing and alternative payment solutions, issued the job posting on Wednesday.

Apple joining the digital currency industry has been a hot topic of discussion in recent months, as investors saw Tesla stockpile billions of dollars' worth of Bitcoin (BTC). Apart from just adding Bitcoin to its balance sheet, Apple may be able to permanently disrupt the embryonic market by joining the crypto exchange market, according to Paul Steves, an analyst at Royal Bank of Canada Dominion Securities.

Gemini exchange introduced support for Apple Pay in February, allowing customers to purchase cryptocurrency through the connection. In the same month, BitPay, a cryptocurrency payments startup, launched a similar connection.

Apple hasn't said anything about its plans for cryptocurrency. Most payment companies that have accepted crypto convert cryptocurrencies to fiat currency in order to accept payments from its worldwide merchants, such as PayPal, which recently announced “impressive performance” owing to cryptocurrency.

Apple, on the other hand, argued that evolving financial technologies may transform people's lives because "new ideas have a way of becoming remarkable products, services, and customer experiences people previously couldn't have imagined - and now can't fathom living without."
